“Good XXX, Shinn speaking. How may I assist you?” is what I’d love to say daily at work in the future. A passion for the Hospitality, Tourism & Lodging industry – The determination to stay rooted to this path as of now.

I’ve embarked on this brand new journey – taking up my Degree in International Hospitality Management at Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne in Switzerland, the oldest hotel school in the world. I’d love to continue the learning journey, constantly seek improvement, take initiative and challenge myself. Nowadays, I’m glad I’m more thankful and grateful in life for what I have.

• Dining | It has to be my life’s happy pill, they bring so much joy

I love venturing new restaurants, cafes and hideouts for good food with good company! I have got no idea if anyone out there would understand how I feel, but the unexplainable happiness of being able to eat and enjoy good food – I have no clue why I love eating so much too. I’m always seen squealing in excitement whenever I try the dish for the first time, or maybe the x time in life (well, there are just some dishes that you can never get sick of eating).

• Photography | Visuals are memories I’d love to have for keepsake

I’m definitely not the best when taking photo. I’ve got a different perspective and angle. I wish my grandfather who was the Cultural Medallion (Photography) 1986 recipient would still be around to guide me along. I wish I was more eager in catching up about about Photography than to spend my daily life taking photos that barely even bring out emotions in my point of view.

I currently hold a Sony NEX-5 camera with 18-55mm lens and 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 zoom lens. This camera has been treating me well but it seems like I should put in more effort to take care of it. Am still in the midst of learning its functions. Amazed at film photography and the instant emotions it can generate: I currently hold a Fujifilm Instax S7 camera, Fisheye Cameraand Superheadz.Tokyo (Japan) slim camera.

• Travelling | Not knowing what you’d expect next, elsewhere

To list a few of where I’ve been: Malaysia, Indonesia, Australia, China, Hong Kong, Thailand, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Seychelles, South Africa – Cape Town, France, Italy, Germany, Belgium, United Kingdom and of course I’d be more than happy to add more to this list.

Hand in hand with my interest for photography, and the hospitality, tourism and lodging industry – Travelling is none other than one of the platforms that would allow me to be exposed to the world. Of cultural differences and eye-opening experiences to what you’ve not seen and what you’ve seen but applied elsewhere, this world is so amazing, you need to go out and have a look at it if you have the chance to!
