I know what I want

As I am in the midst of applying for my internship, I think I have really realised what I like, at least for now.

I know a tiny part of myself in fact likes design, photography and anything artsy which is why, seemingly this little favourite segment appears in my passion for hospitality and reflective in the brands, organisations, properties and destinations I am looking at in terms of my career.

Brands and organisations that put in great efforts in maintaining the heritage buildings they may have purchased or are employed as a management company to manage it as an accommodation property. I appreciate properties which show great interest in the traditional and modern design aspects of the interior and exterior design.

I am certain I love resorts too. I know resorts are great vacation opportunities for families and couples to once again get together even though they may have drifted apart due to career, work or just strained in their respective homeland because of stress. They are chances for me to really express that hospitality in me, in putting effort to help crease a sense of individuality for the brand, property, destination, organisation and recognising guests as individuals, catering to their needs maybe even before they expect me to.

Luxury heritage hotels and resorts it shall be.

All that I have mentioned, are actually major motivators and should remain as reasons for me to be proud of my workplace, the company culture and also the organisation as a whole. I take so much pride in the idea that I must love my workplace, but I am also clearly aware that I may not be that fortunate to meet people in the industry who may be working for the sake for working, those who expects a lot more than what we usually offer, and some who may just tell me they ‘never understand why’ this and that.

I am glad that as of now, a 20 years old lady, I know what I want. Perhaps I may change the direction in some years to come, this might be too early for me to say. But let’s take things one step at a time, for now, I’ll put in effort to do what I can in wherever whenever. =)

About madeofballoons

I like colours because they smile at me like how I'd smile to them in the end, I love watching the clouds in the sky imagining they are various life objects, I love photography - visuals are most probably one of the most important type of memories I'd love to have for keepsake. Wait, I love eating too, it's the kind of unexplainable joy it gives me. Come on, let's all be happy, we're still young!

  1. Dear Shinn,
I’ve said this many times before and I will continue to say it. The personal growth you are going through is impressive and heartwarming to see. I am convinced that whatever you strive for in life, you will succeed in it. Through passion, motivation and most of all through being the wonderful, intelligent and delightful person that you are.
I wish you all the best for the coming weeks, and I can only hope that I will be calling you my friend for many years to come – it makes me proud to call you that today.

    • Dear Charlotte,
Thank you so much for commenting, I am glad that as of now, the passion, motivation has still remained. Most importantly, I’m glad to also see the positivism in me in you :) I wish you all the best for the coming weeks, we’d be especially busy in the month of February, but I’m sure we will learn a lot more during this crazy period as well. Keep penning down every single thought on your blog, like the above post was written randomly while I was in the school library. It’s always nice to read back sometimes =)

      Shinn
